The Urban Decay Naked palettes are kind of a big deal. When I originally heard about the new Naked Smoky palette I was a little skeptical that it would be something really original or new. After all, the original Naked and Naked 2 are pretty similar in a lot of ways. But when I saw the first released images of Naked Smoky, I was actually pretty excited about it.
Here’s the deal. I don’t feel like it is necessarily something super new. But here is what I love. It is a little bit of everything. You have your warm browns, your cool grays, a pop of purple and mattes! If you are only going to own one Naked palette, this is absolutely where I would start.
This palette is really versatile and you can get so, SO many looks out of it. You can get a soft matte eye, a warm bronzed look, a deep smoky eye… I could go on, but you get the idea. The shades are all smooth and extremely pigmented, per usual for Urban Decay. And while so many brushes that come with palettes are kind of a bust, Naked Smoky actually comes with a decent dual sided blending/pencil brush.
I love this palette for someone who only wants to drop the $54 on one really great palette and wants the most bang for their buck. I love this palette for the makeup collector that appreciates something versatile and all-in-one and fairly compact to travel with. I love the brush. I love, LOVE that matte shades to really help bring a look together. I love the packaging! So is it worth the hype? I say absolutely yes!
What do you think? Will you be forking out the cash to get this palette? Do you have a favorite UD Naked palette that you love more?
