I am constantly trying out new makeup and beauty products and from time to time I just like write these posts about some current favorites. I am usually a high end, Sephora shopping girl when it comes to my makeup, but I feel like in the last year drugstore brands and other affordable brands have been really upping their game and producing some great quality products. Here are some of my current favorite affordable products.
NYX Lip Pencils
When it comes to lip pencils, I strongly prefer a less creamy, more stiff product. Not so stiff that is doesn’t lay down any color, but for me creamy lip pencils tend to move around more and can get sloppy quick. I find NYX lip pencils to be some of my very favorite lip pencils on the market and only $3.50 each.
Makeup Revolution Blush Palette
I picked up this Makeup Revolution blush and highlight palette a couple months ago at Ulta for $10 and I love it! The blushes are all beautiful, wearable colors that easily build to the intensity you prefer. The highlighters range from subtle to bold. This palette is a steal for $10.
Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer
This concealer is such and oldie, but a goody. I would be lying if I said it was JUST as good as some much more expensive concealers, BUT if you want so spend $20 less on your conealer, the Maybelline is totally worth checking out for around $8. But even with Tarte Shape Tape, or Urban Decay Naked Skin on hand, I still find myself reaching for this concealer a couple times a week to mix things up.
L’Oreal Brow Stylist Plumper Brow Gel
I originally bought this brow gel because I had heard good things about it, but I will admit that it took me a little bit to really love it myself. My problem was that the product really coats the brush so it was hard to use at first, but once it occurred to me to wipe the excess off on the inside of the bottle before putting it on my brows it worked much better. I have used the light/medium shade as well as the clear and for $10 recommend both. I really like the way the light/medium one as some color and dimension to my brows the filling my brows alone won’t do.
NYX Butter Glosses
Another oldie but goody is the NYX butter glosses. For only $5 each these are fantastic glosses. They aren’t too sticky, not too sheer, not to thick and wear for a decent amount of time.
