If you are either brand new to makeup, or wanting to start over from square one, here is my guide on how to fill all your makeup NEEDS for under $100 with some of my favorite products!
When you are shopping for basics and not looking for anything too expensive or crazy, I definitely recommend looking at all-in-one type palettes like the Lorac PRO To Go Eye/Cheek palette. It fills your eye shadow, blush and bronzer needs for $38. Buying all those items separately would cost significantly more.
For a basic, all-in-one, no fuss foundation try IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation with the brush included. You can buy this from QVC for $39. QVC just happens to be one of my favorite places to buy makeup for a cheaper than retail price. Most high end foundation is around this same price range, if you want to look into some other options check out my post on finding YOUR perfect foundation.
When it comes to mascara, I will never recommend an expensive, high end mascara to someone just starting out or just looking to fill needs. I know there are some really great expensive mascaras out there, but honestly, there are some really awesome drugstore ones too! My very favorite is Maybelline Volum’ Express The Colossal Cat Eyes mascara. You can get it anywhere for $7, but it might be cheaper at Walmart or use a coupon at Ulta and get an even better deal.
That is everything you really need, but I am a huge fan of filling brows, because it makes a huge difference! So here is my last recommendation
MAC sells a great eyebrow pencil for $16, which is less than many other high end options. If you are looking to start filling your brows, I find a pencil much easier to use than a brush.
I know with many of these products there are probably awesome drugstore options for even less money, but these are some of the products I really love and recommend! As always, if you are shopping at Ulta, ALWAYS do a quick Google search for a coupon and see if you can save a few bucks! You don’t have to pay full price for makeup!
