1. File your nails
File your nails to the desired shape. Only file dry nails. Filing wet nails can lead to splitting.
2. Soak your nails
Apply a rich hand cream, then soak your hands in warm soapy water for 5 minutes to soften your cuticles.
3. Push back your cuticles
Push back your cuticles with a wet nail stone. If you have a hang nail trim it, but otherwise don’t clip your cuticles because they are there to protect from infection.
4. Apply base coat
A base coat will help your polish to go on smoothly and last longer.
5. Apply polish
Rather than gooping on a thick coat of polish, apply 2 thin layers of polish to get a perfectly polished look.
6. Apply top coat
Brush on your top coat. Don’t forget to apply it to the tips of the nails as well.
7. Clean up smudges
Clean up any smudges around the nail with a paint brush dipped in nail polish remover, or you can use an orange stick, wrapped in a little bit of cotton and dipped in nail polish remover.
