Makeup can be really intimidating. So many aisles at the drugstore, or even more intimidating Ulta or Sephora are entire STORES dedicated to makeup. And those who may not be total makeup junkies don’t know where to start, so it’s just easier to stick with the same makeup routine they have been rolling with since they were 15 years old. But girl, your out-dated makeup routine has to go. But don’t worry, and definitely don’t get overwhelmed. Here are a few quick and simple tips to up your makeup game without spending hours on YouTube watching tutorials or dropping hundreds or dollars.
1. All IN ONE KITS
If you are serious about changing your makeup routine quickly, check out all-in-one kits like Maskcara Beauty. When you have your highlight and contour that doubles as foundation all in one place, its great to get your makeup on quickly and easily. There can be a bit of a learning curve with kits like these, but the results are totally worth it.
2. GET YOUR BROWS RIGHT
K, I’ll be honest. Figuring out how to do your brows right isnt easy. It takes time, and practice but its totally worth it! Get your brows waxed by a reputable professional, and learn to fill them in. If you already have fuller brows, I recommend a tinted brow gel, like Benefit 3D BROWtones. If your brows are more sparse, check out brow pencils in a color that matches your natural brows. Great brows frames your face and makes you look more finished.
Don’t skil the mascara in the morning. A quick coat of mascara can make you look more awake and healthier. We have all had those, “Are you sick?”… “No, I am just not wearing makeup.” moments. Rude. Whether its the last thing you put on in your makeup routine, or the only makeup you’re wearing, its important. If you never seem to have time for any sort of makeup routine, maybe look into eyelash extensions.
When I talk makeup with friends (because when you’re a makeup lover people want to talk about it) I am surprised how many woman aren’t wearing bronzer! Applying bronzer in the right places goes a long way in shaping your face and adding dimension and life to your complexion. Apply bronzer to the perimeters, and below you cheek bones. Its easy-peasy and totally worth the energy. If I had a choice between bronzer and blush, I would go bronzer all day long.
5.TAKE IT SLOW
Did I overwhelm you? I hope not! Here’s the bottom line, pick what is important to you and start there! Focus on one thing at a time. If you have never filled your brows before, start there and master it. When you master it, move on to the next thing. If you have a makeup lover in your life, ask her to go shopping with you to pick out products that are right for you.
